Lord of the Fading Lands...A must read!! C.L. Wilson captivates you from the beginning and leaves you waiting impatiently for Lady of Light and Shadows to continue the story. I was up until 3am reading the book and tried several times to put it down and go to sleep, but I couldn’t. The characters are well developed and the story is told so that you can actually visualize what’s happening. The interaction between the hero and heroine is sharp and witty. No simpering weak heroine in this book. Ellysetta’s fear of her own magic and her struggle to accept Rain, are well done without leaving you aggravated at her stupidity (like in some books). Rain supports and encourages Ellysetta; emphasizing to her how important SHE is and not who she was or how she acts. C.L. Wilson is a bright light in the world of books and will be on my must buy and read list from here on out. If you take a chance with no other new author..PICK THIS ONE!!!

C.L. Wilson has a lot of background information on her website, www.clwilson.com, about this world. She has put a lot of forethought into the history and people of Eloran and it shows in her writing. The story flows smoothly and is rich with detail and emotions.

Ellysetta is a girl from a common family, swept into a world of royalty, magic and intrigue. Her struggle to understand and accept her truemate, Rain, is at odds with her fear of magic, her own magic. Ellysetta has always longed for Rain, been fascinated with his people, even without knowing he is her destiny. She is strong, brave and compassionate without being haughty or belligerent. She will be a good Queen.

Rain is King of the Fey; a shapeshifter who battles to control his beast from claiming Ellysetta too soon and causing her fear. His people are dying and Ellysetta is their only hope for a future. He lost his first love a thousand years ago in violence and caused mass destruction during his revenge. Now he struggles to accept his feelings for Ellysetta; fearing the loss of his truemate will cause world wide destruction. He allows no insult to his Queen and neither do his people. He will have her and no one..not even her betrothed can stop him.

The dark mages of Eld will stop at nothing to kill Ellysetta. They desire the death of the Fey and ruling of the World. Rain will protect Ellysetta at all costs. His people will defend her with their lives. Rain and Ellysetta must work together and become one to triumph. Ellysetta must learn to become a Queen, with all its trappings, quickly for she is due in court in a few days time.

The first thing I did when I held No More Ramen in my hands was look at the table of contents. The titles summed up every emotion of doubt, confusion, fear, and anxiety I had about the real world. As I enter my last year of college, quickly getting pushed to the door to the real world, I freaked out about the road ahead. No More Ramen calmed me down. Aretakis takes these real life, real emotions, real problems, and real questions and tackles them step by step. He doesn't merely tell you what to do, but shares his experiences, shares the pluses and negatives of each decision we can possibly make and leaves it up to the reader to decide what is best. He doesn't sugarcoat which I think made the book even more true to life, surely the real deal. Throughout the book, he provides little exercises (which are downloadable from the companion website free of charge, www.NoMoreRamenOnline.com) to help readers find out what they really enjoy, what their goals are. To be honest, doing the exercises were hard. I thought I knew myself but I couldn't even pinpoint what made me happy; it was hard to think of topics that I was sincerely passionate about. I realized that I had a lot of searching to do to figure out what I want out of my life .He provides a myriad of resources that I checked out as I read the book, which were all very helpful. His tips about work, relationships, and money were all insightful. He gives examples of an impressionable resume, phone etiquette, how to budget money, the list goes on. Everything talked about from insurance to buying a car was a reality check. There was so much I didn't know. I now feel more prepared and secure about myself and what I have to get done. His writing was so simple, straightforward, and honest that I remember almost everything that made me go "oooh" and "aah" and there were a lot of moments of that. There was never a dull moment in No More Ramen and everything was relevant. I have a little more wisdom to conquer the real world now. I recommend this book to everyone trying to figure out what to do next in their lives. I'm even passing on the book to one of my best friends, who's going through the very common "I'm tired of eating Ramen" syndrome.

Princess Bubble

This modern-day fairy tale features an independent princess named Princess Bubble. She is a flight attendant for the Royal Heir Line and travels all over the world. Many of her princess friends are getting married, and Princess Bubble’s mother, the queen, urges her to find her own prince. She searches high and low, and even on the internet, for her perfect prince. She tries to find clues in the fairy tales, but she eventually learns that “happily ever after” doesn’t have to come from a prince. It comes from being happy in your own life and doing good things for others. Princess Bubble realizes that she is already happy and finds her own “happily ever after”. Review: Bubble Gum Press was kind enough to send me this book, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I was surprised to find a thoroughly modern princess (she wears jeans!) and no Price Charming, which was very refreshing. Traditional fairy tales too often focus on a “damsel in distress” and a brave prince who must face many dangers to rescue her. Princess Bubble does not need rescuing. She has a job, she has friends, and when she searches for her prince, she takes them on dates to football games and the movies. The message that this book conveys is that an independent, modern girl does not need a man to be happy with her life. Princess Bubble is happy with the way her life is, and although falling in love with a handsome prince can certainly enhance her happiness, it does not define it. This is a very positive message for the young girls who read this book. It further teaches young readers that they can find their own “happily ever after” in their lives by simply living good lives and helping others. Princess Bubble is such an optimistic characters and a wonderful role model for any young girl. The authors have succeeded in turning the old fairy tales upside down and have created something entirely new.
